judgment04The Bible repeatedly warns us not to judge. Not that judging is wrong, but we're not very good at it. We find it very difficult not to just consider the outward appearance. And since things very often are not what they appear to be, our judgement usually is faulty.

Especially when it comes to judging others. How often doesn't a good exterior mask a horrifying private life? How often doesn't an outwardly chaotic person live from a strong and healthy inner conviction?

No one is harder to judge at first sight than Jesus Christ. From his first public performance on the religious leaders were convinced that he could never be the one they were expecting. And it was their task to look for the Christ.
Oh well, since he was from Nazareth, a small village in Northern Israel, he was way too common. And Jesus broke the Sabbath law, which they considered supremely important. We ourselves often make mistakes, thinking salvation comes in the form of religious prescriptions and rules.

The way in which Jesus will appear in your life is not for you to decide. You can't plan in which way He'll bring you closer to God the Father. He will not force his way into your life, but just asks you to admit Him as your Saviour and the King of your life.

In order to accept His saving, you have to admit Him. To do so you will first have to learn seeing through the ugly common appearance. You could also have an involuntary special experience. Your daily life is suddenly interrupted. All of a sudden it invokes a thought of Jesus from you. It calls for your attention. Dare to give yourself that chance. Anything could become of lifesize importance. But you will only see that when you stop trying to fit Jesus into your own expectations.
